The FJA press card may only be used for journalistic work, by the person named on it, while it is valid. It must never be used to obtain private advantages, to mislead anyone about who you are or who you work for, or to suggest that it is an official or police document.
These guidelines form part of our terms and conditions. They protect you, the people you meet in your work and every other card holder.
We expect card holders to follow recognised standards of journalism, such as the IPSO Editors’ Code of Practice: report accurately, respect privacy, avoid harassment and intimidation, take particular care with children and people in grief or shock, and identify yourself when asked unless there is a clear public interest reason not to. Follow lawful directions from police and stewards, and accept that organisers decide on access. Our guide journalism ethics in the UK explains the codes in more detail.
Loss or theft: email help@presseausweis-beantragen.com straight away with your card number, so that we can help you and, where possible, prevent misuse.
Change of circumstances: if you no longer work journalistically, please stop using the card.
Misuse: if we learn that a card has been obtained with false information or misused, we may revoke it with immediate effect as set out in our terms. Dishonest use of any document to obtain an advantage can also have legal consequences – see fake press card.
